These are debt instruments issued by the Republic of the Philippines through the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) to fund government programs and initiatives. They are considered very low-risk investments because they are direct, unconditional obligations of the government.

Examples include Retail Treasury Bonds (RTBs), Fixed Rate Treasury Notes (FXTNs), and Treasury Bills (T-bills).

For every investment you make in government securities (RTBs, FXTNs and T-bills), you will be issued a Confirmation of Sale (CoS). This indicates that no physical certificates are issued, but your ownership is electronically recorded in the Bureau of the Treasury's Registry of Scripless Securities (RoSS) under your name.

The RTBs are part of the government's savings mobilization program designed to make government securities available to retail investors. They are considered zero-risk as they are a direct, unconditional, and general obligation of the Republic of the Philippines.

RTBs are designed to be zero-risk, are higher yielding compared to other savings products, and are accessible, with a minimum placement of only P5,000.00 during the primary offer period.
