Ma. Lynette V. Ortiz is the 11th President and Chief Executive Officer of Land Bank of the Philippines (“LANDBANK”).

 

With over 30 years of experience in banking and finance, Lynette held various senior roles in risk management, treasury, corporate finance and capital markets in major global and domestic institutions.

 

She leads LANDBANK in implementing strategies that align with the developmental objectives of the National Government. In her leadership role as President and Chief Executive Officer as well as Vice Chairperson of LANDBANK’s Board of Directors, she ensures the implementation of robust corporate governance, effective risk management and controls, compliance with laws and banking regulations.

 

Lynette, together with LANDBANK’s Management, has led the bank to attain all-time high income levels and healthy financial ratios brought about by sustained strength of banking revenues alongside prudent cost management.

 

She also serves as Member of the Board of the Maharlika Investment Corporation, tasked to mobilize and utilize the Maharlika Investment Fund to generate optimal returns on investments, while contributing to the goals of economic growth and sustainable development for the Philippines.

 

Lynette is likewise the Chairperson of Overseas Filipino Bank, the first government digital only-and branchless bank mandated to provide financial products and services tailored to the requirements of Overseas Filipinos.

 

Prior to her appointment in LANDBANK, she was the first Filipino Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Philippines and held the role for over 6 years. Lynette spearheaded several landmark transactions in both domestic and international capital markets for Philippine and ASEAN issuers. She also helped the National Government raise funds through global and domestic bond issues, as issue manager, book runner, as well as sustainability structuring advisor to the Republic of the Philippines.

 

She also served as First Vice President in the Board of the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) from March 2020 to March 2024.

 

Lynette is part of Fortune’s 100 Most Powerful Women Asia (MPW Asia) list for 2024, recognizing female executives who are redefining the concept of leadership by transforming companies, disrupting industries and driving growth, while inspiring the next generation of leaders. A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, she was named United Nations 2021 Philippine Women’s Empowerment Principles Awards Champion for Leadership Commitment, for her role in setting strong corporate commitments and inclusive leadership.
